The People’s Own Savings Bank (POSB) is proud to join the rest of the world in commemorating the 2025 Global Money Week, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of financial literacy and inclusion among young people. This year, POSB is taking significant steps to engage with the community and educate the next generation on financial management.
Global Money Week 2025: 17-25 March
This year’s Global Money Week is commemorated from 17-25 March. As part of the celebrations, POSB is exhibiting at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Sports Club. The exhibition aims to showcase the bank’s wide range of financial products and services, emphasising the importance of saving, budgeting, and responsible financial planning. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to interact with POSB representatives, learn about various financial tools, and gain insights into effective money management practices.

Youth-Friendly Products
POSB offers youth-friendly products, including Youth Account and JuniorSave products. These products are designed to help young people start their financial journey on the right foot, encouraging good saving habits and financial responsibility from an early age.
School Visits for Financial Literacy
In addition to the exhibition, POSB’s service centres are actively visiting various schools across the country. These visits are designed to provide students with practical knowledge and skills related to financial literacy. Through interactive sessions and engaging activities, POSB aims to empower students with the understanding they need to make informed financial decisions in the future.

Theme: “Think before you follow, wise money tomorrow”
This year’s Global Money Week theme, “Think before you follow, wise money tomorrow”, focuses on the importance of developing sound money management skills and recognising emotional triggers in financial decision-making. The theme highlights the need for young people to critically evaluate information sources, especially in the digital age where financial advice can be influenced by social media and other online platforms.
POSB’s Commitment to Financial Education
“As a people’s Bank, we are thrilled to be part of Global Money Week and to contribute to the financial education of our youth. By participating in this initiative, we hope to inspire young people to take control of their financial futures and to understand the value of sound financial practices,” said POSB in a statement. “We urge youth to visit our website or service centres to open accounts. We have custom-made products for young people, including Youth Account and JuniorSave account, readily available to them.”
