COMPLIANCE OFFICER – DATA PROTECTION
Description
Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this role is responsible for advising and assisting the organization in developing and maintaining an effective compliance program to meet data protection laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Identify and communicate relevant data protection laws and obligations.
- Conduct data protection gap analysis and support remediation plans for compliance.
- Advise on the necessity of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and assist in their execution.
- Evaluate privacy risks related to data processing and recommend mitigation measures.
- Review and guide on privacy policies and documentation.
- Oversee data breach monitoring, management, and reporting.
- Assist in responses to individual privacy rights requests.
- Develop and implement targeted training and awareness programs on data protection.
- Prepare regular compliance reports and updates for senior management.
Qualifications
- Law Degree (LLB)
- Certification in Data Protection is a must.
- 2 years’ experience in data protection in the financial sector.
