POSB Joins Ministry of Women Affairs to Commemorate International Women’s Day in Bindura

The People’s Own Savings Bank (POSB) joined the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development and the nation at large in commemorating International Women’s Day during celebrations held at Chipadze Stadium in Bindura, Mashonaland Central Province on Wednesday 4 March 2026.

International Women’s Day is globally recognised as a platform to celebrate the social, economic and political achievements of women while advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The commemorations in Bindura brought together government officials, community leaders, women’s organisations, NGOs and members of the public to honour women who are making significant contributions to community development and gender equality.

POSB Donates Equipment to Support Vulnerable Communities

As part of its commitment to community development and financial inclusion, POSB donated various items to support vulnerable members of the community.

The donations included wheelbarrows, shovels, gas cookers and food hampers, which were presented to selected elderly and disabled beneficiaries, as well as women recognised as village champions of women’s issues.

The initiative reflects POSB’s continued efforts to support communities and improve livelihoods through practical assistance and empowerment programmes.

In his address, Mr Makacha highlighted the importance of financial inclusion in empowering women and enabling them to participate meaningfully in economic development.
