What we do
The Peoples Own Savings Bank was established principally to mobilize savings and to provide accessible banking services for Zimbabweans countrywide.
The bank provides banking services through 188 locations. Of these 28 are POSB Branches which are all online to the Core Banking System and 180 are the Zimpost agent network. 80% of Zimpost offices are now online to the Core banking system to ensure customers have real time access to their accounts. This is supported by a state of the art and one of its kind system called the Greencard system. The Greencard system enables customers with and without ATM cards to transact on Point of Sale (POS) devices to do transactions such as withdrawals of up to $1000, deposits, transfers, bill payments, mini statements, balance enquiries and airtime purchases.
The bank has three principal business units that provide banking services, namely
RETAIL BANKING - LOANS
Retail Banking takes care of the individual banking needs of customers who include High net-worth customers through Esteem Private Banking, Salaried customers, self employed, pensioners, unemployed, minors, youths and clubs. Products offered for customers under Retail Banking include Individual Transaction accounts, Club accounts, Term deposit accounts and loans.
CORPORATE BANKING - LOANS
Corporate customers benefit from the personalized service and financial advice of our Account Relationship managers. Our customers include Listed and unlisted companies, Government Ministries, Parastatals, Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Products and services offered include; Transaction accounts, loans, Overdraft facilities, Bridging Finance, Order and Debt financing
TREASURY & INTERNATIONAL BANKING
The Treasury Department offers investments and call accounts. Our strength in this area lies on our competitive interest rates, tax free income on all investments and innovative products.
